Rebates and Concession Rates

Medicare Rebates

Medicare rebates are available for psychological treatment by registered psychologists under the Australian Government’s Better Access to Mental Health Care initiative. This scheme provides considerable financial assistance to people living with mental health problems, allowing them greater access to psychologists and providing more affordable mental healthcare.

To access the Medicare Rebate, you need your GP, psychiatrist or paediatrician to complete a detailed mental health assessment and prepare a Mental Health Treatment Plan before referring you to a psychologist.

Get a Medicare rebate on the spot

If you are an individual referred to Life Resolutions by your GP, you may be eligible to receive a rebate for 10 counselling sessions per Calendar Year, and up to 16 sessions in exceptional circumstances from March 1 2012 until December 31 2012, through the Better Access to Mental Health Care Initiative

In most cases, eligible Medicare Rebates can be processed on the spot by Life Resolutions with the funds transferred directly into your bank account.

For more information about Medicare Rebates for psychological services, please view the Australian Psychological Society Medicare Fact Sheet.

Private Health Insurance Rebates

All our psychologists are registered with most private health insurers. If your insurer covers you under ‘extras cover’, you may be entitled to a rebate. Some Life Resolutions locations have HICAPS terminals and can process a private health rebate on the spot, or your psychologist will provide you with a receipt for you to claim your rebate directly from your insurer.

Concession Rates

Concession rates are offered to people who hold one of three Centrelink Concession Cards. Please contact us for further information on our concession rates.
